CAPG and NextGen Healthcare Join Forces to Promote Greater Efficiency among the State's Leading Medical Groups

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 11, 2006--The California Association of Physician Groups (CAPG), California's largest physician organization association, today announced an agreement with NextGen Healthcare Information Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Quality Systems Inc. (Nasdaq:QSII) to make available NextGen Healthcare's fully integrated ambulatory electronic medical records and practice management solutions (NextGen(R) EMR and NextGen(R) EPM) to more than 40,000 physicians affiliated with CAPG medical group members. This new relationship makes NextGen Healthcare a preferred business partner for computer-based healthcare information tools and systems for the entire CAPG organization.

"We are excited about our affiliation with NextGen because we believe it will help facilitate more rapid adoption of cutting-edge tools that will help physicians provide their patients with enhanced coordinated care," said Donald Crane, president and CEO for CAPG. "NextGen was a leading-edge choice because its products are Windows-based, easy to use, scalable, and can be customized to support the unique needs of each medical group in our association."

NextGen(R) EMR is an innovative electronic medical records system appropriate for any size medical practice. The system's variety of clinical and administrative functions enhances productivity and gives physicians more time to focus on patient care. NextGen(R) EMR is easily integrated with NextGen(R) EPM, which is a unique enterprise practice management system that streamlines front and back office administration.

"This partnership is a win-win for everyone," said Patrick Cline, president of NextGen Healthcare. "It facilitates communication between NextGen and California's leading physician groups and enables them to purchase our award-winning systems at a reduced rate, all while supporting the CAPG organization. We look forward to working with CAPG members to help them adopt computer-based systems that create efficiencies that can lead to better patient care."
