Eclipsys Corp. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Sysware Healthcare Systems Inc., a hospital laboratory information systems vendor. Terms of the acquisition, expected to close in early July, were not disclosed.

Boca Raton, Fla.-based Eclipsys, a vendor of hospital information systems, has partnered with Southfield, Mich.-based Sysware for two years and resells the lab system as part of its Sunrise software suite.

Sysware's 130 employees, including its software development branch in India, will become Eclipsys employees. Eclipsys will expand the India operations to further support application development and customer service functions.
