Encoder named KLAS category leader by its customers three years running

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn.— July 17, 2007 — Ingenix, a leading health information technology company, announced today that Web.Strat™ received a first-place ranking in the general market solutions category of “Medical Records Coding” in “The Top 20: 2007 Mid-Year Report Card.” The report was published by KLAS Enterprises, LLC, a leading source of health care information technology vendor performance data.

“Eighty-seven percent of the Web.Strat users who KLAS surveyed for the report provided positive feedback about Web.Strat, and two-thirds of respondents rated Ingenix as their best vendor,” said Steven Greenberg, senior vice president of Ingenix. “Those responses are a testament to Web.Strat’s functionality and usability, but also clear evidence of the high level of service that we deliver long after the solution is purchased and installed.”

The KLAS 2006 Mid-Year Report Card is based on data compiled over a 13-month period (April 15, 2006, through May 15, 2007) from health care provider organizations, which score the applications they use in 40 performance areas. Web.Strat users rated the Ingenix medical records encoder higher than their counterparts rated other encoders, including encoders from 3M Health Information Systems and QuadraMed.

Web.Strat is a more feature-rich, Web-based version of WinStrat, the Ingenix desktop encoding solution that earned the top category ranking in the KLAS 2004, 2005 and 2006 Year-End Report Cards. It is a native Web application that extends coding, compliance and reimbursement management tools to users no matter where they may be working. Its Web-based deployment allows every staff member to follow the same coding policies and guidelines, eliminating inconsistencies and reducing compliance risks.

Because Web.Strat is browser-based, the need for IT staff to install and maintain the application on each user’s desktop is eliminated and regulatory updates are managed electronically. In addition, Web.Strat offers both book-based and logic-based encoding capabilities, which allows coders to use whichever method they prefer, or to use both simultaneously. Web.Strat is integrated into many of the leading hospital information systems in the marketplace making it available as a tightly integrated, single-source solution, functioning seamlessly within the hospital’s workflow.
